I am collecting, painting and re-baking a 100 porcelan ovalshaped dishes  and show them as an installation in the museum in Las Palmas. I'm buying them at second-hand shops. They have been on the tables at families in this region. The work is like a frame-story. Each dish telling an aspect of my relation -in time and space- to the landscape I am living in and my inner landscape. Togeather the dishes are like a fleet of ships.

An escaped raging Limousin-bull attackes and gives me a head-bang.  I only suffered minor damages and the camera  survived as well. These pictures were taken just before the bang.

September 29th:  a lecture about my work in Meerssen (NL).

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

September 24th My sculpture at the elderhome 'de Lemborgh" in Sittard, was officially opened. It was a commission by the company DSM. They have a policy to (instead of collecting art only for themselves) pay for  artcommissions in (semi-) public space.

My work is a 3 meter high bronze piece. Whenever a bronze hand is touched, one of 80 songs will, at random, be heared. Most of the elderhome's inhabitants are demented and music is one of the longest lasting categories of memory.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

August 2009; I'm "completing" these identical (half) bronze sculptures, casted in 1993.  I'm making a clay model first, then make a plaster mould for a wax model. The wax model will be casted in bronze and be welded to the existing bronze part.

The first scupture has 5 old cannonballs added on the side of the head. The other one's arm has been enlarged, so it could be a snake that is sleeping next to the person. The new parts  are still in clay and in wax on these photo's. Later they will be in bronze.

I think these sculptures are insprired by two journeys to Italy, earlier this year, where people like Penone and Paladino also picked up the ancient figurative language.

The figures will be ready in bronze in november 2009

25. April 2009: opening of the exhibition "Colossal" in Kalkriese (Ger) near Osnabrück. An international group of 20 artists was asked by curator Jan Hoet to make an artwork in relation with the defeat of Roman legions against the Germans in the Teutoburger Wood, now 2000 years ago.

May 2009: Negotiations about making a mural painting on Darwin Building (London University) has been stopped because rules make it impossible to put permanent artworks on university buildings. The mural was originally designed in oktober 2008 for the Liège university  and but circumstances made it impossible to execute it then.  But now, it still will be made in Liège because the artwork fits so well to the location. The university will take the opportunity to have the facade cleaned and restaured first. This will cause a delay untill at least march 2010.
